Project Description:

@nclution aims to build cooperation and coordination among local authorities, migrants’ organizations, and communities, LGBTQI+ organizations and other CSOs supporting the rights of migrants and LGBTQI+ persons in Cyprus, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland & Spain, to support the implementation of local integration strategies that promote LGBTQI+ migrants and refugees’ inclusion.

More specifically, the project aims at:

1. Increasing awareness and know-how of local authorities on challenges faced by LGBTQI+ migrants, as well as existing good and bad integration practices
2. Enhancing the understanding & sensitization of migrant communities and organizations on including LGBTQI+ migrants
3. Enhancing the understanding & sensitization of LGBTQI+ organizations on including LGBTQI+ migrants
4. Increasing synergy and cooperation between LGBTQI+ organizations, migrants’ organizations, and local authorities
5. Developing and implementing local integration strategies for LGBTQI+ migrants
6. Increasing access to information for LGBTQI+ migrants & refugees about practices and services in the host countries
These objectives will be achieved through the implementation of the following main activities:
– Identification of the needs for changes in attitudes and processes towards LGBTQI+ migrants & refugees
– Capacity building and sensitization programme for 300 staff/volunteers/members of migrants’ organizations, 300 staff/volunteers/members of LGBTQI+ organizations, and 300 staff of local authorities
– Implementation of ‘rainbow buddies’ schemes for 300 newly arrived migrants and refugees
– Cooperation between local authorities, LGBTQI+ organizations, migrants’ organizations and other CSOs in local action planning
– Information portal on local services for LGBTQI+ migrants & refugees in several languages
– Dissemination and awareness raising actions.
