COMPOSE is a three-year project whose main objective is to increase the share of renewable local energy sources in energy mix strategies and plans in 11 Mediterranean regions. The project builds on existing experience and know-how from previous projects and initiatives to provide a RES development planning synthesis model and therefore the increase thereof in energy mix of selected areas by promoting the development of local business in combination with the development of local added value chains. As a horizontal principle, the project consists of the knowledge, sectorial policies and financial instruments required to promote and invite green investments, based on local potentials. Altogether, COMPOSE will implement minimum 15 pilot activities aiming to promote, strengthen and increase the use of RES hand in hand with EE measures.

COMPOSE shall contribute to an increased sustainable RES planning capacity at the decisionmaking and planning-expert levels, whose main objective is to promote new business models and technology development to compose green economy by connecting local potentials to sustainable energy supply chains.
