As of April 1, 2022, the Nicosia Development Agency (ANEL) is in charge of the management of
the District’s Green Points, following the decision of the Regional Waste Management Council of
Nicosia.

The Council’s objective was to ensure the quality of waste collection services provided to the
citizens of the district, through an organization that would operate in a consistent and
professional manner. At the same time, the aim was to successfully address the problems which
had arisen during the operation of the Green Points in the past.

From day one, ANEL set as its primary goal the increase in usage of the Green Points by
citizens, in combination with the citizens’ greater compliance with operating regulations. In
addition, ANEL makes a daily effort to maintain the cleanliness of the Green Points through the
correct sorting of waste.

Moreover, ANEL has set up a Call Centre for the residents of the District. The purpose of this
Call Centre is to provide citizens with a means to communicate directly with the management of
the Green Points. By calling 77 11 12 16, citizens have the opportunity to receive all information
regarding the Green Points, as well as to report any complaints they have in terms of the
service provided. The ultimate goal of this Call Centre is to improve the services offered.
