ANEL at the @nclusion 2nd Transnational Project Meeting

The Nicosia Development Agency (ANEL) participated at the 2nd Transnational Project Meeting of the EU project @nclusion, on April 8 and 9, 2025. The meeting took place in Alzira (Spain) with representatives from all 6 partner countries, namely Germany, Italy, Cyprus, Spain, Greece and Poland.

The project partners had previously prepared six national reports, presenting the results of our research focusing on the needs for change in institutional attitudes and procedures towards LGBTQI+ migrants and refugees. Each report highlights country-specific challenges, good practices, and policy recommendations to improve inclusion and protection. Click here to view the reports.

During the meeting in Alzira, the main findings of the transnational reports were presented; the main gaps and needs in knowledge and awareness-raising of migrant organisations, LGBTQI+ organisations and local authorities were assessed; and recommendations were made for measures, methods and actions to promote changes in attitudes, work ethics and procedures of the three target groups in order to promote the integration of LGBTQI+ migrants and refugees at local level.

The next steps were also presented regarding the development of a training and awareness-raising programme for migrant organisations, LGBTQI+ organisations and local authorities with 3 modules for: Migrant organisations, LGBTQI+ organisations and Local authorities.

Our aim is to build the knowledge, awareness and capacity of their staff/members and/or volunteers on the inclusion of LGBTQI+ migrants and refugees.

@nclusion project aims to improve inclusion for LGBTQI+ migrants and refugees by facilitating collaboration between LGBTQI+ organizations, migrant groups, communities, and local authorities. The project is funded by AMIF – Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund.
