Across all partner cities and regions, SPARK – Smart Planning for Agile Urban Mobility Solutions has reached an important milestone: partners are now at an advanced stage in developing their Local Analysis Reports—the key “mobility snapshot” that sets the ground for effective policy learning and transfer.
What is a Local Analysis Report?
Think of it as a local reality check for sustainable urban mobility. It brings together, in one clear picture, the evidence needed to understand where we stand today and where policy can make the biggest difference.
What does it capture?
Each partner territory is mapping its local context and priorities, focusing on:
- Where congestion and bottlenecks appear—and why
- What already works well and can be strengthened or scaled up
- What needs improvement for walking, cycling and public transport
- How “smart” local mobility systems are—data availability, tools, digital readiness
- Inputs from local stakeholders, including SWOT insights and practical feedback from collaborative sessions
From evidence to better policies
These reports are not an end in themselves. They are the foundation for peer learning, helping partners identify transferable good practices and tailor solutions to their own realities—supporting the project’s core ambition: improving policy instruments for greener, safer and more agile urban mobility.
What’s next in SPARK?
The next step is to compare findings across territories, select the most relevant and transferable approaches, and translate shared learning into concrete policy improvements—so that change is felt where it matters most: in everyday trips, for everyone.
Stay tuned! We will soon share local highlights, inspiring practices and policy lessons from across the SPARK partnership.
