SUBLIME SDGs, co-funded by the European Union, is proud to launch “SCIATUmia: Breath of the Borderlands”, an open call for women-led initiatives that are driving sustainable, circular, and climate-just solutions for underserved and marginalized communities.
This funding opportunity seeks to empower women as leaders of change by supporting community-driven projects that respond to local challenges through innovation, inclusion, and environmental responsibility. Selected initiatives will contribute to building more resilient communities while advancing the principles of sustainability, social justice, and participation.
What We Are Looking For
We invite applications from women-led projects that:
- Promote the circular economy and sustainable lifestyles, including reuse, repair, regeneration, and responsible consumption
- Champion climate justice, addressing environmental inequalities and supporting communities most affected by climate challenges
- Actively engage marginalized and disengaged community members, ensuring inclusive participation, co-creation, and local ownership.
Projects should demonstrate a strong community focus, clear social and environmental impact, and meaningful involvement of local stakeholders.
Eligibility & Timeline
- Funded actions must run for a minimum of two (2) consecutive months
- Projects must start no earlier than March 2026
- All activities must be completed by 31 December 2026

In-Person Information Workshop
Interested applicants are warmly invited to attend an in-person workshop to learn more about the call, eligibility requirements, and how to prepare a strong application.

The workshop will also offer space for discussion, networking, and exchange of ideas among women leaders, community groups, and sustainability practitioners.
